Robin Williams

Robin Williams, what a shock to here of his passing. Especially as some news agencies have reported, by his own hand. Those brothers and sisters who don’t know who Robin Williams was, I will attempt to explain. He was the one of Americas most funny actors. Movies, stand up comedy, and now back on TV. Every time you saw him he was doing something funny. Always with the funny voices, funny sounds. Always a smile on his face.

But just like that opera clown, big smile, but sad inside. Another Hollywood actor, with fame and fortune but empty inside. As we all know only God, the Lord Jesus Christ can give you true joy. Only Jesus can fill that emptiness. Yes, as Christians we feel down or depressed sometimes but isn’t it great that our best friend Jesus is with us to take our burdens. Philippians 4:13 tells us “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Obviously Robin Williams did not have that strength. He once did a stand up routine where he insulted Christians. He said mean things about Christians, and I paraphrase :If Christians are in Heaven then I don’t want to be there. He now knows what a horrible statement that was.

I don’t worry about such things. For me knowing that I am not of this world as Jesus states in John 17:16. My citizenship is in heaven Phi 3:20.
